Adhesives are made with cyanoacrylate and cyanoacrylate needs moisture to cure. The adhesives don't dry they cure. The reason for telling a client that they would need to wait 24 hours before getting their lashes wet is because it takes that long for the cyanoacrylate in the adhesive to pull enough moisture out of the air to cure properly.

Using a nebulizer  will cure lashes completely and then lashes  can wash be washed immediately. This is  helpful for clients who have irritation or burning from the fumes.

One of the major concerns with eyelash extensions is the varying quality of the lash glue used at different beauty salons. The adhesive ideally needs to be the same standard as that used during cosmetic surgical procedures, however, lack of regulation of the beauty industry in the UK, means that many salons use inferior, and even industrial quality glue. Eyelash adhesives normally contain formaldehyde, and those containing a high percentage of this chemical are the most dangerous. For this reason, prospective customers should enquire about the glue to be used to attach their lash extensions, as poor quality adhesives are the most likely to cause damage.

Often eyelash extensions will be misapplied at beauty salons, and in the process glue may enter eyes, potentially resulting in severe damage and disfiguring injuries. Allergic reactions may cause skin damage, breathing difficulties and madarosis in the eyelash region. Beauty salons are expected to perform the treatments they offer in a reasonably competent manner.
